How To Make A Column of Dropdown Menus in Google Sheets
Dropdown Menus With Google Sheets Data Validation Feature
There are an infinite amount of uses for Google Sheets. It is an incredibly powerful tool for collaboration, and with some tricks can be used to fairly effectively track information among a team. In certain cases it may be useful to add dynamic content to your spreadsheet to make it look a little less like, well…a spreadsheet. Certain tricks like conditional formatting and data validation can make a huge difference and create a spreadsheet that runs more like a dynamic application. You can use data validation to create dropdown menus in single cells or entire rows or columns.
Step 1. Select an entire row by clicking on the letter above it
Step 2. Select to Data > Data Validation from the menu
Step 3. Select a ‘List of Items’ and type the options you desire separated by commas.
The entire column is now drop-down boxes with the values specified.
Even when you go to add more rows, the new rows will carry the same formatting.
